Big banks around the world central banks That are much further down the road all Right then um here's another clip where He talks about Swift I think this vum Point is really interesting because one Of the things and I'm sure Brian's Noticed from his time from being the Regulator to now we've noticed this even The last year um a lot of the banks Basically all the banks that you would Go to five years ago with a solution That said hey you know what that Swift Thing why don't you put that to the side And we can give you a replacement Network to send money overseas between Banks no one wanted to even have you in The room but the these Banks were all Moving very quickly with their own you Know desks being set up their pet worth Clients are asking for it and so they Will evolve um in in the same way that That others will have to come along and If they don't and if they're sitting Still and not asking questions or having Identified a smart young person to be Driving this for them right now um That's a bad place to Be okay um then I found these from James Wallace he's he's one of the Ripple VPS And goes around the world um to talk About Central Bank digital currencies That these different countries are are Building now he's sitting down this guy They're in Georgia not Georgia in the
United States not the state the country Georgia apparently Ripple's been doing a Pilot with the country of Georgia and Here listen to what he says about the National bank and your Relations uh regarding the digital Larry uh let me go uh the following way What do you think why rep was chosen From the national bank and the partner In this uh quite ambitious project yeah Well firstly you we're very excited and Proud to being selected by the National Bank um it was quite a long process um I Think we started talking to the team Over two years ago so there's been quite A long and thoughtful process um we took The time to really understand what the Objectives were of this digital Ari Project um and it's a pilot so it's you Know it's it's a absolutely I would call It an advanced experiment on the way Towards some real system so um you know We took some time and I think ultimately There probably two or three reasons why I think the reasons why we were selected Um firstly is you know ultimately we're Are the technology provider and we have Developed Technology uh specifically for Cbdc using technology um based on Blockchain um that technology has been Actually used for more than 10 years so It's sort of lower risk from that Perspective because it's been used um
And then also we um as a company you Know Ripple is about 11 years old which Is not very old compared to the country Of Georgia but for fintech it's you know Fairly well established and we've been Running Payment Systems globally for 10 Years um and then I think there was just A good alignment you know culturally we We saw shared the objectives and I see Uh the specific details of this project That we have some experience and Hopefully we can demonstrate that with Them so a long long an of a long process To get here at the same time can can I Consider the B mentioned two or three Reasons why Ripple was chosen by National Bank of Georgia as an Advantages what Ripple brings to the Table uh to the sense be of Georgia yeah So I think the one is the technology at The end of the day we're the technology Partner so we have proven Technology um that has been used in you Know 10 or more other countries to do Similar sorts of Pilots um and then Again I think it was it was our it's our Experience right the fact that we um we We took the time to sit down with the Bank understand the objectives and we Put together a comprehensive package so We're helping them with um all aspects Of the project the technology is the Center obviously but we're we're Bringing our experiences to to Georgia
Okay I I found several Clips folks but I Want to play you another one of the good Ones this one's good this one they talk About the X Ledger listen ifications and You have also mentioned about the Blockchain system uh my question is it's Going to be uh integrated let me say so On the existing block chain or uh you Guys are thinking about some outstanding System in regards of digital L yeah it's A great question um uh so basically the Technology um that we're creating for The digital lar is a private blockchain But it's based on the technology used in The public blockchain so the public Blockchain that we use is called The xrp Ledger um it's a uh publicly available Open-source blockchain technology and What we do for each country we're Working with we take a uh we create a New private version so you can only use The blockchain if you are permissioned To do so so we've got the reason the Advantage of that is The xrp Ledger Technology is proven it has been Processing billions of Transactions um but you know central Banks like to have things a little bit More private so we have created a Private version so it's a little bit of A hybrid to answer your question Definitely it's a absolutely independent Platform which is specifically performed For each project where you evaluates yes
