Michael bur if you remember him he's the One that uh was uh inspired the movie The Big Short says based on Bank this is Um this isn't him this is um a stock Tracker based on Bank of America's Earnings yesterday the bank said it had Unrealized losses of 131.5 billion on the bonds it plans to Hold to mature SEC up from 105.8 billion at the end of June in his Latest report bur invested 88656 in spy puts that's the spider um ETF that tracks is it the S&P 500 I Believe and um the $738,000 in QQQ puts so um getting ready That's that's the NASDAQ um uh put Getting ready for or ETF getting ready For a possible economic crisis worth Keeping an eye on and then there's this A us home buyer needs to earn a record Of $115,000 to afford the medium priced Home for sale in increase over 53% in The last three years man real estate is Heading for a mess now this is uh Brad Garlinghouse had interviewed with Mato With that Ripple had bought recently Here's a here's a question from it I Think this is more of a high level Question I'll I'll give it to you Brad What are your thoughts on the bitcoin's ETF approval and its future role in the Monetary System so I think it is an interesting
One you know uh We've obviously seen a Bunch of traditional Financial firms File for spot spot Bitcoin ETFs and uh Finally the United States SEC seems to Be uh after years of kind of dragging Their feet seems to be uh allowing those To move forward I'm not sure you the Part of the question here is this idea That are they part of the you know the Future monetary system I mean to me a Bitcoin ETF is simply allowing people Who may not know how to custody by Manage their crypto themselves to Participate uh in in Bitcoin as an asset You know it's a little like a gold ETF You may not want to hold gold in your Home but being able to buy a gold ETF Allows you uh investment exposure to That asset and so I I'm very much Pro uh Giving people access to these things in A way that works for them and so I don't Know why that would be bad and why the SEC was uh blocking that whether or not You know that has a a role in the future Monetary system you know as much as I'm Bullish about Bitcoin and I own Bitcoin You know Bitcoin has some significant Limitations as it relates to a payments Mechanism uh in terms of fees and speed And so I'm not sure I see that as a a Transforming uh the monetary system all Right but I know what will Christine Lagard Knows we need to prepare our Currency for the future while we haven't

To some extent uh administrative Difficulties that needs to be um Addressed in order to roll out this cbdc Uh and so time is absolutely understood But the push for going faster uh I think Still needs to be made the European Central Bank is finishing now his Investigation phase and is about to Begin an implementation phase of about Three years the bank of England might Not be much faster than that that means That they' have talken about the second Half of this decade that means that Again for several years the Chinese cbdc Will be the only one among the major Jurisdictions out there what's the risk Clearly uh China is able to uh make Comprehensive offers along the countries Of the V the Bel and Road initiative in Which they offer to uh build Infrastructure of All Sorts uh Road Bridges uh uh ports and whatever not but Also payment system Infrastructure uh not just in the form That we have seen recently That came to the four sixs the Crossborder international payment system That was for example offered to Russia When the Russians Bank were picked out To Swift but uh this is the basic and The foundation but together with that Kind of infrastructure they can offer The infrastructure for cbdcs and once That infrastructure has been put in
Place not just in China but in countries As I say along the Bri uh say in Eastern Africa in Southeast Asia in Eastern Europe and so On and forth in the Middle East it's Going to be extremely difficult uh for Anyone else to go there with a different CC and say oh I'm going to make a Counter offer it's too late once the Infrastructure is built it will remain In place for the foreseeable folks my Son my now 11-year-old has been drawing You all pictures for years now five Years at Least we can only draw so many pictures The writings on the wall I I truly Believe that this thing is is about to Happen here in the next you know this Switch I don't know if it's going to be A switch Flip or it's going to be just a Fast gradual and then all of a sudden Everybody realizes what's going that's What I believe I believe everybody it's Going and David Schwarz said this in Singapore when we were there it it it Might be a slow rise at first but when When all the people finally realized Wait a minute this thing's starting to Be used and it's slowly Rising they're Going to jump in and then it's going to Go nuts and then we're going to have Then then it's going to be too late I Want to remind everybody what the dtcc Is an American post TR trade financial
Services company providing clearing and Settlement Services to the financial Markets it performs the exchange of Securities on behalf of buyers and Sellers and functions as Central Securities depository for providing Central custody of Securities in 2011 Dtcc settled the vast majority of Securities transactions in the US and Close to 1.7 quadrillion in value Worldwide today this came out check this Out um dtcc today announced that we have Signed a definitive agreement to acquire Securency a leading developer of Institutional grade digital asset Infrastructure so there's that this is The current cury right here so Currency's protocol can be utilized on The ethereum Stellar Ripple EOS and Other distributed ledgers as well as on Legacy systems allowing for seamless Onchain and offchain movement of tokens Folks the writing is on the W wall and Now dtcc is doing more like 2.3 Quadrillion that's quadrillion Dollies and then Linda Jones had a Really bullish tweet te tweet on um the Perpetual um Futures Contract for xrp Coinbase approving Perpetual Futures Contracts for trading xrp means xrp is Very bullish if xrp's price was not Going to flu fluctuate or change a lot No one would be interested in trading it Futures contracts allow for maximum
