Except Bitcoin there's a lot of Disagreement and push back um against That idea not only in the industry but By the cftc and even by the courts as Well um so that's been another major Issue recently is the Ripple the Ripple Court case um if you want me get into That I can just briefly um but so what Happened with the Ripple Court decision Was a couple years ago the SEC filed a Lawsuit against Ripple Labs which is the Issuer of xrp which is one of the Biggest cryptocurrencies in the space so In this lawsuit SEC asserted that um xrp Was a security and that Ripple was Issuing an unregistered security uh and Therefore should be um the law should Apply to them and so what happened in This court case was a monument Al Decision for the space so judge Analisa Tories she actually ruled that when xrp Was first issued and sold to Institutional investors it was then a Security but after that when xrp was Sold on crypto exchanges you had a lot Of retail investors buying this asset um Not knowing that it was tied to a Specific company and so by that Definition it actually didn't meet the Criteria for security and so that has Huge Ripple effects if you will for the Industry at s because the implication if That ruling stands is that the majority Of crypto assets sold on crypto
Exchanges like coinbase um or like Kraken for Example against what Gary gendler has Said that those are all Securities they Are actually not Securities and so okay So here we are in the middle of a legal Battle right and we've been preaching This to you guys since 2020 guys first They resisted then they sue it then they Regulate it now we're heading into Regulation and join phase and so this is A great little website to follow the Atlantic Council and it breaks down you Know the 60 breaks down 60 countries we Analyze how 60 countries have regulated Crypto Assets in their jurisdiction they Talk about legal access and Regulatory Categories okay so you can go here and You click on here and it'll show you Boom okay so it'll show you their legal Status and if you just hover over here You go Canada okay Legal okay and you just click on these Different things partial ban in Mexico Right but if you go through you can Break down all the things South Africa Legal taxation yes am AML yes consumer Protection but you used to start to see A lot of red but as we've gone Throughout the years this has become More and more green okay so you're Seeing that every single country is Going to have to come online Japan green Across the board America Green across
