Dollar it was the Spanish dollar that's Right and the Spanish dollar didn't have Nearly the the the global demand that The US dollar did did but it was Preferenced and it's interesting to note Cuz I think it'll come on into our Conversation as we go on one of the Reasons it was so preferenced was it was Technologically superior to the other Currencies it was technologically Superior because it was minted using New World silver rather than old world Silver which was more consistently pure Meant it was more fungible one coin to The next but also it needed less alloy Which made it actually lighter but the More most important feature was it was Mitted in such a way that it can be Broken up into eight equal pieces known As Pieces Of Eight which which made it Fractionable so it made it easier to use In commer because it was easier to make Change and it's interesting that was so Um preferable that when the United States created its own currency it Modeled it on the Spanish dollar we call It the dollar but also the dollar if you Think about it is actually dividable Into eight half dollars quarter dollar And what we used to call bits which we Don't use that term anymore but 12.5 Cents so you can divide the dollar into Eight which was modeled on the Spanish Dollar the reason I mentioned that is
And we'll talk about this technological Aspects of currency really do matter and We see that in history it is such a Remarkable point and we are going to get Into the technological design and how You can keep that design in such a way That the demand regardless of the world Going digital or not that the the demand For the US dollar will still remain Strong and dominant but we're going to Go beyond just the design of the dollar And we're going to go into how and what It might look like and some of the Geopolitical events that are taking Place that are really causing this this Moment this transition to be addressed It cannot be kicked down the road this Is a very real conversation and I do Believe that look I I this is why I tell You to come to xrp Las Vegas and get a Room right at the MGM Grand the rooms Are gorgeous the facility is amazing the Property is super beautiful and you know What you can walk right to the Conference but look more importantly What you're going to hear and people You're going to engage with you are not Going to regret being at this conference Because this conference is representing The moment and the transition that we Are in we really are in a moment where The US dollar is in trouble as the Global Reserve currency and I don't want To see that dollar go away I don't want
